Husqvarna GTH27V52LS

The Husqvarna GTH27V52LS garden tractor lawn mower is a very large machine that you will almost never find being used by individuals, unless they own a garden that is at least 2 acres in size. The engine that powers the GTH 27V52LS is an Endurance Series model from Briggs and Stratton. This engine is a twin cylinder with a total displacement of 0.724 liters. The engine stays working smoothly thanks to a full pressure lubrication system that also has an oil filter. The engine transfers power to the wheels through a hydrostatic transmission that gives it infinite speeds going forwards as well as in reverse.

The mower deck on the Husqvarna GTH27V52LS garden tractor lawn mower has a cutting width of 52 inches. The mower deck houses 3 blades that are all identical. The deck on the GTH 27V52 LS can be raised through 3 inches, from a low of 1 inch above the ground to a high of 4 inches above the ground. The deck is raised and lowered in small 0.5 inch steps.

For dealing with the cut grass clippings on the Husqvarna GTH27V52LS, there are 3 choices. Some people go with the easiest option which is to just discharge the grass clippings out the side of the deck. Unfortunately this looks quite ugly, so others choose to mulch the clippings or instead to purchase an optional bagger attachment to collect them and leave the lawn looking very tidy. If you have ever owned or used the GTH 27V52LS, then please leave a review of it below to let others know what you think of it. If you are interested in GTH 27V52LS but are looking for something that’s smaller, then you’ll like both the Husqvarna YTH22V42LS and the Husqvarna 2042LS garden tractor lawn mowers as they are less powerful and have smaller cutting decks.

Not 2008, but 2010. After deck was repaired (see above) tractor has without a replacement until now. First engine gasket replacement failed promptly. Would like to find replacement engine. May use for wood chipper as is

    Now I miss my Husqvarna!

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Remains a beast of a machine.
Cons: blew engine gasket last year 2020
    Attachments: lawn sweeper

    Mower itself is tremendous—-
    The deck is almost worthless.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Built like a tank! The mower is a great climber and gives an overall solid feel. Need to have cruise repaired but mower has almost 360 hours of use and only repair has been replacement of rubber brake pedal cover.
Cons: The deck itself, while fabricated and well constructed, is the pits! If you like cleaning under a mowing deck, this is for you! I’ve done everything including painting the underside with POR-15 and the deck wants to clump and jam up after mere minutes of use. Done everything recommended and it builds up!
    Attachments: none
Modifications: POR-15 painted under the deck.

Excellent mower. I think it’s much better than any comparable brands out there. The deck is HEAVY DUTY!!

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
    Pros: Lots of power
    Heavy deck
Cons: Replaced front wheel bearings at about 58 hours. It was an easy job and I do mow about an acre and a half every week.
    Attachments: I have a rake.
    Modifications: No modifications made

Mowing tall grass it does a poor job even when moving slow. The mower deck hangs up easily on uneven terrain and had disconnected the front attachment point when i backed up. I recently lost the hood while transporting it at night. I will recommend if hauling one on a trailer to tie the hood down. A locking diff. would be a nice addition. The linkages for the brake rattle a lot. The factory blades only lasted 10 hours before the wings were worn off. No i wasn’t in gravel or anything like that. the blades were soft metal. Reverse isn’t as good as it should be. hard to push the little button with big feet. The deck wheel mounting needs to be reinforced if you are mowing on softer ground as it will bend the factory mounting. Those are the down sides. The transmission work really good forward. I mow 2 acres half of which is on a steep hill side. I don’t have any problems getting to the top. The engine has plenty of power. For the most part i am pleased with one i purchased and i plan to keep it around for many years. I will continue to improve on the factory design as i need to. as far as the missing hood. I will build one myself since i am not going to spend the $400 to replace it with factory parts.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Strong engine, heavy deck, ground engaing transmission.
Cons: low ground clearnace with mower deck. varing speeds when using cruise control on hills. the hood isn’t attached. the frame flexes a lot when on uneven terrain. Blades for the 52″ are impossible to find locally.
Attachments: 52″ welded deck, attachment lift
Modifications: Agricutural tractor tires, wheel weights

As above. Replacing almost all moving parts of deck; disappointing.
    Tractor seems well built though
    Miss my Simplicity ;-q

    Year of Manufacture: 2008
Pros: unsure of model year but put 08. This tractor is a beast, heavily built. Steel deck definite asset, won’t crimp. Good power for what i ask it to do, which is mow and pull carts and equipment around acreage. Would have it do more, but attachments costly and hard to find used.
Cons: sheared deck spindles, all three. pulleys bent, also belt guide. Could be my (mis)use of machine, but never had motor this powerful, and never had spindle teeth disappear.
Attachments probably aren’t that much more expensive than other brands.
Not a Simplicity, deck doesn’t float well.
    Attachments: steel deck
    front grill/guard
Modifications: replacing all deck spindle assemblies and most pulleys and belt guard.

This mower cuts very well dry, wet or tall grass. pleanty of power and the deck is pro quality. Very comfortable seat with arm rests are a plus cutting 2+ acres weekly. I am a little dissapointed in the frame twist i get while cutting on slopes or uneven terrain. at times it seems like the pullys are grinding while the deck is twisting, plus you can feel the tractor twist. I had a toro wheel horse 268H before this. it was build like a rock but did not last. hopeing to have better luck with this one.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: 27 hp Endurance motor, heavy duty rear transfere case, pro quality deck, steel front hood, very ergonomic
Cons: frame twist while on slopes or uneven terrain. linkages rattle for brake.
Attachments: 52 inch fabricated steel deck

very pleased. Mower is still going despite abuse by me.

      Year of Manufacture: 2009
Pros: Updating my previous post. Have since blown gasket, had it repaired and blown engine again. Still works but miss the usual power. Looking for replacement engine this spring.
      Cons: Operator errors.
      Attachments: Fabricated deck
      Modifications: none

  7. Tommy from Newport says:

I shopped around and looked at most all manufactures. This garden tractor is the best bang for the buck.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Super smooth hydrostatic tranmission and a quiet Briggs and Straton engine. The heavy duty deck does a great job cutting, even at high speeds.
Cons: Annoying ratlle from brake linkage.
