Husqvarna GTH26V52LS

The Husqvarna GTH26V52LS lawn mower is one of the biggest garden tractors that Husqvarna make. It is powered by a 26 hp engine and has a 53 inch wide mowing deck that consist of 3 blades. If it’s something smaller (but still a lawn tractor) from Husqvarna that you are after, then you should check out the Husqvarna YTH2042 or even the Husqvarna LTH18538 lawn mowers. The GTH 26V 52 LS is also sometimes referred to by it’s model number which is 960 43 01-18.

The engine powering the Husqvarna GTH26V52LS lawn mower is a FR Series Kawasaki. This 2 cylinder, air cooled engine has a displacement of 0.726 liters and is keystarted with the help of a 12 volt battery. The battery is recharged once the engine is turned on using a 15 amp alternator. The gasoline tank supplying fuel to the engine is capable of holding up to 15.1 liters (4 US gallons) of gas, more than enough for well over 2 hours of constant operation before it will need to be refilled. This 52 inch Husqvarna is an automatic thanks to it’s hydrostatic, ‘Hydro-Gear’ transmission which gives the tractor mower a top speed of 12.6 kph (7.8 mph) going forwards and a max speed of 3.4 kph (2.1 mph) when it’s reversing.

The Husqvarna GTH26V52LS garden tractor lawnmower has 3 choices for dealing with grass waste. Some choose to just discharge it out the side of the mower deck onto the grass, where it will slowly rot (and is a bit of an eyesore). Another option is to purchase the BioClip, mulcher kit which will allow you to mulch the grass clippings. The last and most time consuming option is to purchase the triple bagger attachment and collect the grass waste, leaving you lawn looking very clean. If you own one of these 52 inch Husqvarna mowers, then please feel free to leave a review below detailing what you like/dislike about it as well as what attachments you use with it and any modifications you have made to it.

I wish the trans axel was easier to service like changing the oil or more on the heavy duty side longer lasting like the rest of the mower

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: Kawasaki engine strong and long lasting deck is heavy duty and can take a beating. I have used mine to mow 4.5 acres no steep inclines but lots of ruts and uneven ground. It does well as long as the field grass is not to tall.
Cons: expensive to repair Trans axel went out after 280 hours. the price is more than half the price for a new mower. If grass is 11 inches high and thick it will need to be cut twice one pass with the deck up at its highest level and then again at a lower setting. You would think it should handle grass 15 inches high with no problem but NO.

Does an outstanding job. Motor is the BEST part of this machine!!

    Year of Manufacture: 2016
Pros: Kawi motor is the bomb- works perfectly as one would expect. Mower quality is excellent given its pricing. It is not a Massey, but it is 3K less than a Massey Ferg so I’ll accept that. Husq folks stink on ice for helping you once they sell you the tractor, so be aware of that. JD sold me 3 tractors before this and generally left me feeling ‘robbed blind’, so be advised that there is no free lunch anywhere.
The machine runs well…better than expected. Perfect? NO. Great? no. Very good? Absolutely. Make sure the guy dropping off your machine runs it for at least five minutes and mows a few strips of your lawn prior to you accepting delivery. If its a POS, you’ll see it right away. Good luck tio you. All things said are my opinion, so take it as you will.

Cons: Very POOR customer relations once you purchase your tractor. Can’t say I have ever heard or seen worse. Again, that is my opinion based on my experience.

    OUTSTANDING MACHINE!

    Year of Manufacture: 0
Pros: I understand that not everyone is Mechanically inclined, But i have read alot of reviews over my 55 years and it gets me when i hear all the winening about such mostly little fixes. It’s a mower. Not a M1 Aberoms Tank. I have owned my GTH26V52LS for 5 years now and all i have done to it is change the oil every spring. Grease all the Zerks every other mowe job. I did have to tieghten up two Transaxel bolts when i noticed some drops of oil after i mowed for 3 hours. ( I didnt take it to the Dealer either). I also noticed that the in-line fuel filter was vibrating aginst the engine case during operation, so i Zip-Tied it out of the way. ( No I didn’t Take it back to the dealer either). I mowe 3.5 Acres of rolling and very Hilly land with 15 self planted trees 13 years ago by hand also. ( No help from the dealer either). Mental note. Get up off the coutch take custody for what your hard erned money has bought. Nothing but top quality equipment that requires preventive maintenance.
    Cons: NONE
Modifications: I do plan on Welding two additional Front Deck wheel brakets that will give extra support . My land is very rolling and the deck floats alot and i have noticed over the years the single front deck roller ears are slightly bending so i will weld an extra ear on the out side of each wheel brack and also tie into each over the top preventing the bending issue. I take pride in being self reliant,. ( SIGNED. No dealer hear

The mower cuts my job time (I mow a lot of grass at my home on smooth & even ground). It is much better on gas than my John Deere tractors. Not had problem with drive belt or transmission like had with JD. Pulls hills much better than JD or Toro. Heavy duty other than problem with blade falling OFF. NOT from abuse or obstacles, contrary to what dealer (independent, authorized Husky dealer) insists upon. This is a very annoying and DANGEROUS defect!! Dealer has NOT stood behind this product at all since “day TWO’ of my ownership. I will go with Cub or JD next time I invest over $3K in any mower. JD Dealer charges an arm & a leg, but they WILL fix the problem and have always stood behind their product. Unfortunately can’t say same for Husqvarna!

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: Smooth ride, plenty of power, wide cut, good on gas.
    Reserve fuel tank nice option.
Cons: BLADES keep falling off machine. THREE times in 1st year of use (one at 2 days old & 5 hours, one at 5 months old & 88 hours, one at 12 months & 111 hours).

Never as smooth & even cut as any John Deere tractors I have owned.

Seat slips forward all the time while riding mower. (since day one)

Brake lever had to be adjusted 1st day of use.

Cannot see fuel level thru window (since day one)

Every thing works good. Except the deck!

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: Good strong engine, plush seat/arm rests, fast , nice transmission
Cons: Had the origanal deck replaced under warranty because of warping/ blade missalignment from the factory. Now with new deck it cuts as bad or worse than the original. Big ugly scalped/ not evenly cut stripes in the lawn. Blades still missigned.

This is my 3rd mower. Craftsman and Murray were the previous.
This is like a Cadillac; it is smooth, quiet and very well made. I plan on doing the routine maintenance and anticipate no problems with the Kawi engine.

    Year of Manufacture: 2011
Pros: Feels like a quality piece of machinery. Fit & finish are superb.
Steering very tight – handles well.
    Hydro transmission transitions smoothly.
    Very quiet.

Cons: Cut not as smooth as I would expect from a new mower; will get this checked.
    Attachments: Triple bagger.
    Sun canopy.
