Husqvarna 2042LS

The Husqvarna 2042LS garden tractor lawn mower is powered by an Endurance Series engine from Briggs and Stratton. This engine is a 2 cylinder model with cast iron liners. It has a total displacement of 0.508 liters and uses a full pressure lubrication system to keep everything working well. The Briggs and Stratton engine on the 2042 LS lawn tractor has a paper type air filter to prevent small particles and dust from getting into the engine. Power from the engine is transferred to the wheels of the lawnmower through a hydrostatic transmission. This gearbox setup gives the lawnmower infinite speeds going forwards and backwards which makes it an automatic.

The rear wheels on the Husqvarna 2042LS lawn mower, which drive it forwards each measure 20×10 (20 inch diameter, 10 inch width), while the front wheels, which are responsible for steering the 2042 LS measure 15×6 (15 inch diameter, 6 inch width). Attached to the leading and trailing edges of the mower deck are 4 anti scalping wheels in total. These guide the deck evenly over the cutting surface making sure that the blades never catch the ground. The mower deck itself has a cutting width of 42 inches. This deck has 2 blades and is made from strong steel. The deck has a 3 inch operating range, from a low of 0.5 inches above the ground to a high of 3.5 inches above the ground. In total, there are 6 operating heights. The deck is raised and lowered via a spring assisted lever.

The fuel tank on the Husqvarna 2042LS has a capacity to hold up to 9.5 liters (2.5 US gallons) of gasoline. A similar model to this one is the Husqvarna YTH2042 garden tractor lawn mower as it has both the same power from the engine and the same cutting width. Very happy with this lawn tractor.

    Year of Manufacture: 2010
Pros: Motor always starts & runs great (5yrs)
Very maneuverable with the 42″ deck.
    Handles our hilly area well.
    Delivers a nice grass cut.
Cons: Gone thru (2) batteries in 5 yrs.
    .
I need a dedicated trickle charger to keep the battery charged during the winter months.

If we had steeper hills – 25 HP would be better.

After 1 yr of use it perfect, until one day it randomly just turned off going up a hill. After that it had starting problems if it was parked up a hill. I thought it was the fuel filter but it wasn’t. So I’m wondering if there is a problem with the fuel pump. Could u help me out??
