Cub Cadet ZTT46

The Cub Cadet ZTT46 garden tractor lawnmower is part of the iSeries of lawn mowers that happen to look quite futuristic. This machine is different from most tractor mowers for the simple reason that it can make zero radius turns. This makes the ZTT 46 particularly useful in tight situations where a high degree of mobility is needed. The engine that powers the Cub Cadet ZTT46 is a Kohler Courage model with overhead valves that produces 20 hp. This engine is a twin cylinder and both cylinders have cast iron lined sleeves for longevity. The Kohler engine is gasoline powered and uses a fully pressurized lubrication system to keep the engine working properly and prevent excessive wear.

The engine on the Cub Cadet ZTT46 ride on lawn mower transfers power to the rear wheels through a dual Hydro-Gear transmission that allows each of the rear wheels to spin at different speeds which is a major part of how it can make zero radius turns. The other important part of the ZTT 46 that helps it to make zero radius turns is the pivoting front axle to which the front wheels are attached. The top speed of this lawnmower comes in at 9.7 kph (6 mph) going forward, while in reverse it can reach 5.15 kph (3.2 mph).

The mower deck on the Cub Cadet ZTT46 has a cutting width of 46″. This deck has 2 large, heavy duty blades housed inside it. This deck is made from durable 12 gauge steel. It can be lowered down to 1.25 inches above the ground and as high as 3.75 inches above the ground. The mower deck is powered using a belt drive system. It has 2 anti scalping wheels attached to the front and 3 rollers attached to the back of it. Other similar models in the iSeries are the Cub Cadet ZTT42 and the Cub Cadet ZTT50 tractor lawn mowers.
