The Cub Cadet GT2554 garden tractor lawn mower is the most powerful lawnmower in the Series 2500 of riding garden tractors from Cub Cadet. It gets it’s power from a 2 cylinder Command engine that is manufactured by Kohler. This engine has a power output of 23 hp, which is enough to power it’s very large 54 inch mower deck.  The mower deck uses QuickAttach technology, allowing you to get the mower deck attached in mere seconds without the use of tools. Like most Cub Cadet lawnmowers, the GT 2554’s mower deck can be adjusted in height from a high of 4 inches above the ground to as low as 1.5 inches above the ground. There are 6 different positions in total that the mowing deck can positioned at. You’ll be pleased to know that you will almost always get a very clean cut to your grass as this mower uses 3 blades instead of one.

Power from the engine on the Cub Cadet GT2554 reaches the wheels through a shaft drive, hydrostatic transmission. This means that very little energy is lost during the power transfer. Power from the engine is transferred to the mower deck through a Kevlar reinforced belt. Unfortunately power steering is not available on the GT 2554.

The Cub Cadet GT2554 is a fairly hefty machine. It tips the scales at (846 lbs), making it slightly heavier than the Cub Cadet GT2544 or Cub Cadet GT2550 lawnmowers. The fuel tank on the Cub Cadet GT2554 lawnmower can hold up to 8.5 liters (2.25 US gallons) of gasoline. The wheels are very big. Each rear tire measures 23×9.5 (23 inch diameter, 9.5 inch width) while each front wheel measures 16×6.5 (16 inch diameter, 6.5 inch width). The top speed of the GT 2554 comes to 9.3 kph (5.8 mph).
