The Craftsman 28 Inch Dual Stage Snow Blower can be bought with a choice of 2 engines. The first is a 0.28 liter engine, while the other engine has a displacement of 0.25 liter and is made by Briggs and Stratton. Both engines are 4 stroke which is great as it means that you never need to worry about fumbling around on very cold mornings trying to get the fuel/oil mix right. Instead you just add both separately and let the engine do the mixing itself. The intake height of this snow blower measures 0.71 m (28 inches)
The curved blade, steel auger on the Craftsman 28 inch 2 stage snowblower begins the process of snow removal by very quickly chopping up and breaking up the snow. Due to the rotation of the auger, this snow then moves towards the center of the machine where it meets the impeller. The impeller has a diameter of 0.3 m (12 inches) and quickly and efficiently sucks up the snow and then spits it out of the chute. The chute on this Craftsman snow thrower is built from polymer, not steel. This polymer helps to resist blockages. The chute can rotate through 180 degrees allowing the operator to always have a direction to aim the expelled snow at.
Going forward, the Craftsman 28 inch dual stage snow thrower has 6 speeds. But when it’s traveling in reverse it only has 2 gears. Starting the engine is through a choice of either plugging it in and pushing a button or giving the mitten grip recoil system and few pulls. The overall weight of this snow blower from Craftsman comes to 99.8 kg (220 lbs). If you are looking for bigger models of Craftsman, then check out the Craftsman 33 Inch Dual Stage Snow Blower or the Craftsman Professional 30 Inch Dual Stage Snow Blower.
